NEWS FLASH !

A Wide Field Science (WFS) team program, directly related to RAPID and co-led by Lin Yan, "Roman High Redshift Transient Science", was approved as part of ROSES-2024!

We will soon be announcing a 3-day, RAPID- and time-domain-themed working meeting for the entire community for Spring 2026!

We participated in and passed a Preliminary Design Review in May 2025; the review committee consisted of members of our Executive Advisory Board (Bellm, Fox, De) and representatives from the various alert brokers (Francisco Förster, ALeRCE; Stephen Smartt, Lasair; Abi Saha, ANTARES; plus, Enrico Cappellaro, Euclid transients). We received a number of highly useful recommendations that we will look to act upon, both in the near- and longer term.

We held the following at the 245th AAS Meeting in Washington, DC:

  • the STRIDE Special Session, Wednesday January 15, 2025, from 2--3:30 PM EST !
  • the Project Infrastructure Teams for the Roman Space Telescope Splinter Session, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM--12:00 PM EST!

We also participated in and presented at Transient From Space at STScI in 2025 March

We will be circulating to the community the draft alert packet schema for comments
